President’s Message, September/October 2021

“And all at once, summer collapsed into fall.” – Oscar Wilde

Where did the time go? Once again, summer passed us in a flash and fall arrived before we
knew it. With new seasons comes new excitement for our community. Your POENB has a moment to breathe and take inventory of all that has taken place throughout the summer. One major end of season occurrence was the destruction wrought by Hurricane Ida. Some of erosion it brought, especially at Price’s Bend, is shown in the photo above. We discussed this and other Ida-related matters such as debris collection with Highway Superintendent Kevin Orelli at our POENB Zoom last month. You will find those minutes summarized in this issue.

As always, we call forward any volunteers from our membership and neighbors who wish to
contribute their unique gifts to the community. We are always grateful to anyone who can join
us in any capacity to give back. In particular we seek a few residents interested in forming a
Price’s Bend Committee to help manage that beach. We also need 2-3 Changing Tides volunteers able to edit just 2 issues a year (no layout, just content gathering) and we’ll give you a cheat sheet on how to do it. We also need energetic & creative folks to consider joining the board. If interested, email info@eatonsneck.org.

Halloween and the Children’s Parade are just around the corner and always great fun for kids
and adults alike! Come out and join in the fun! Stay tuned for updates and, as always, stay
safe and use healthy practices when out celebrating.

Stay Salty,
Frank Bonomo, POENB President
