2024 Watercraft Assignments

Dear Eaton’s Neck Community,

2024 is a watercraft reassignment year. Watercraft spots for dinghies, kayaks and standup paddles will now be a separate fee from membership. Watercraft spots are available only to POENB members, so if you wish to get a watercraft spot, please get your membership in early.

Each seasonal spot will be $30 (limited to two spots per household). By charging a nominal fee for watercraft, we aim to improve our watercraft system by preventing an abundance of unused spots. Over the last several years, a number of households have left their watercraft spots empty and unused, resulting in a shortage of available watercraft spots.

As part of this new watercraft process, we will be holding an in-person watercraft assignments day on Saturday, March 2nd 12:00 PM where POENB members can select a spot in person, provide a check for their watercraft spot and receive a watercraft sticker to place on their watercraft. This will be conducted in a first come, first serve manner based on arrival. Applicant will be cross checked against the membership list and we will also be accepting membership forms at the same time. The watercraft reservation form is on the back of this letter.

While our watercraft assignments process has changed, we are pleased to inform our members that all lower spots will remain reserved for our senior members.

Additionally, new watercraft stickers will be provided this year as it is a reassignment year. Watercraft stickers must be placed on a visible part of the watercraft, while on the racks. This is essential for us to keep good records of who is complying with the rules. Watercraft without a sticker will be removed from the rack. Also, any watercraft that is on the ground and not on a rack will be removed from the premises.

We appreciate your cooperation. Your participation makes our system run smoothly and keeps the process fair for everyone. See you out on the water!

Sincerely, The POENB Board
