Welcome to your July Changing Tides . . . in August. But can you blame us? With the lazy days of
sun, sand and swimming upon us, it’s hard to get motivated to come inside and type.
The 4th of July parade was terrific as always; made even better by the great weather. Thanks to
the ENFD for another great job. Thanks to the visiting Fire Companies, elected officials, antique
car owners and Eaton’s Neck residents who always come out to support and cheer. I especially want
to recognize those who took the time to come up with a theme, dress up and march. This parade started as a small community event. It survives and thrives only with the participation of new generations. Parents, even if the kids were too small this year, start thinking of ways you can help them build a float, decorate a vehicle or a bike and get involved. This is your parade!
I am pleased to report that in June, the last remaining Valley Grove Bulkhead notes were officially
paid off. This would not have been possible without a strong membership year so, to every person
who joined, thank you! I also want to recognize board members past and present whose time and
talents made this huge project a reality. Every membership matters. This project is the proof.
Friday Night Grillin’ is over for 2022. Sunset at the Grove begins Fridays in August. See you there!
