Maybe you have a little turkey soup still sitting in the fridge but, at this point, the leftovers are gone and you should be transitioning from stuffing birds to stuffing stockings. Leaves are being put out, trees are being carried in and we are in full holiday mash up mode on The Neck. But before Santa arrives, permit me to time warp back to November 24th and offer a bit of thanks to the 252 households who joined POENB this year. That’s a record.
The purpose of POENB was (and is) to maintain our beautiful beaches. But over the decades we have managed to preserve something equally important—a sense of community. Even if you never set foot on the beach, you can appreciate how they add to your property value. Even if your face is never seen at a meeting, your voice is heard every time POENB advocates to public officials on your behalf. Even if social events are not your cup of tea, you still get to enjoy The Changing Tides with your morning coffee. Yes, we had a lot to be thankful for in 2022. But on my Christmas list this year will be every household who chose not to join. We need you.
With appreciation,
Ryan Cote, POENB President
