A motion was raised to accept the minutes of our July 2020 meeting as published in the Changing Tides; however not many members at our meeting received the publication. We skipped our August meeting in light of the tropical storm. The motion was not seconded or approved. We will ask that all prior meeting notes be seconded at our October meeting.
Correspondence:
(Presented by Vinny)
Emails have been few since completing our kayak spot assignment undertaking. Bonnie asked if we have considered moving the meeting from Friday to any other week night. Our meetings were scheduled in pre-covid times based on the collective input from the board members’ own personal schedule and the availability of the fire house venue. The board will discuss further at our next internal meeting.
Jim Morcerf wrote to the board describing some of the recent access control issues we have experienced at Prices Bend. He investigated how other similar organizations restrict access and asks the board to plan to install an access control gate and budget same in our 2021 budget. He graciously offered to help finance the project in order to avoid repeating some of the situations we encountered in 2020. A member then described her July 4th experience; witnessing on the street parking and walking to Hobart. She then expanded this to include any beautiful weather weekend during which she observed people parking at the end of Worchester in the court and grabbing their kayak of the rack. She also said she talked to people who thought it was ok to bring a dog to the beach. A discussion ensued about access control, fencing & signage. We are cautious about incurring additional expenses until we finalized the Valley Grove wall rebuild. However, the board will look into economical improvements to help mitigate unauthorized access.
John Ballow was pleased to email the board to let us know Huntington Jeep, Ram, Chrysler and Huntington Hyundai has renewed their special pricing terms for POENB members, friends & families; 1% under invoice less any applicable rebates. Contact info: Kevin Mahoney at kmahoney@huntingtonjeep.com
Greg Hodges recommended the guy after experiencing his own hassle-free experience. Johns email is re printed here:
Dear POENB Board,
It is with great pleasure that I can announce we have renewed our “POENB Buying Group” agreement with Huntington Jeep Ram Chrysler and Huntington Hyundai.
Working with Kevin Mahoney from Huntington Jeep, we have set up a purchase program for POENB and Eaton’s Neck residents. It’s a quick no hassle process that can be done completely over email and phone, with only one visit to the dealership to pick up the vehicle. This special purchase program will provide “Friends and Family Pricing”, specifically 1% under invoice minus any applicable rebates. This program is available for vehicle purchases and leases.
Please contact Kevin Mahoney at kmahoney@huntingtonjeep.com and mention this “Eaton’s Neck” program.
Greg Hodges also agreed to allow us to use his endorsement “I just used Kevin Mahoney for access to the POENB Buyers Group Program for Huntington Jeep. I sent him an email, he sent back the deal and ordered it at invoice with no haggling. Could not have been easier. Great guy and highly recommend. Was getting the run-around everywhere else. Thanks.” Greg Hodges
Might I impose on you to “broadcast” this good news on the POENB website, FACEBOOK page and perhaps a member blast email, also perhaps the Eaton’s Neck Moms and Dad Site as well.
Thanks again to Steve Boccia (Tudor Dr) for leveraging his professional relationships for us. Best regards,
John J Ballow
We welcomed the Lichtenstein family and thanked them for their 2020-2021 membership.

General Announcements:
Bethany reminded all of us that our apparel sale is ongoing.
Joan Deters announced that Lund valve testing is coming to test on Tuesday; please clear growth. She also asked about beach umbrella access from the shed. An inquiry was made about the last few visits from Herman (beach raking service provider) seems as though he hasn’t been out the last couple weeks.
Valley Grove permitting process appears to be in its final stage. We are ordering long lead time items for the project and will soon be issuing a deposit to Rhyan Wisherth.
A member inquired about POENBs tracking and out-reach to new residents moving in. We are aware of the need to improve our welcoming efforts. Greg Hodges agreed to help with the new resident notifications & we agreed to form a welcoming committee to help with the out-reach.
New Business:
We adjured at approximately 7:55 pm.
Our next meeting is scheduled for October 2nd.
